Oman (FETP)

Launched in August 2022, the Oman Field Epidemiology Training Program (FETP) is the third FETP in the Gulf region, following the establishment of programs in Qatar and Saudi Arabia. The program operates in its Basic modality, known as the Public Health Empowerment Program–Basic Field Epidemiology (PHEP-BFE), and was established to strengthen frontline surveillance and rapid response capacity across Oman’s health system. The program is led by the Ministry of Health, with technical support from EMPHNET and the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
