Pakistan (FETP)

Established in 2006, the Pakistan Field Epidemiology and Laboratory Training Program (FELTP) – now known as the Pakistan Field Epidemiology Training Program (FETP) – is a joint initiative of the National Institute of Health (NIH), Islamabad, the Ministry of National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination, and the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The program was accredited by TEPHINET in 2019, and ownership was officially transferred to the Government of Pakistan in December 2021, at which point it was renamed to Pakistan FETP. Pakistan FETP strengthens the country’s capacity in disease surveillance, outbreak response, and public health workforce development in alignment with the International Health Regulations (IHR 2005). In collaboration with the University of Health Sciences (UHS) Lahore, the program awards an MSc in Field Epidemiology.
